Banff Horseback Riding

Holiday on Horseback offers true western heritage experiences in Banff National Park. Days are spent horseback riding and learning all about life in the west! Evenings are spent in a cozy lodge. We call that roughing it the civilized way!

Sundance Lodge sits alongside a gentle curve on Brewster Creek, with the Sundance Mountain Range as a backdrop. Built entirely with fir logs, the lodge has 10 sleeping rooms, a large country kitchen, and a cozy living room area where you can curl up by the woodstove with a good book. Although it is a remote backcountry lodge, we do have hot showers! (Please note that for environmental reasons, showers are restricted to one per stay).

Halfway Lodge is surrounded by the beauty of towering peaks and has been a welcome haven for over 75 years. Halfway sleeps a maximum of fourteen guests. This rustic backcountry cabin has propane lanterns and candles to provide the lighting, and a woodstove keeps the water hot and the cabin warm and cozy.

We have several "Lodge Rides" for you to choose from ranging from 2 to 6 days in duration.

The cowboys, provided by Warner Guiding and Outfitting, will guide you through a photographers haven to the best fishing spots the Canadian Rockies have to offer.

Join us at either of our convenient locations, Martin Stables or the Fairmont Banff Springs Corral, for a one, two or three hour ride.


Hungry? Ride to 3 Mile Cabin on the Mountain Morning Breakfast Ride, Covered Wagon Cookout or the Evening Trailride/Steakfry for BBQ steak dinner made to order.

A Holiday on Horseback packtrip takes you and fellow adventurers deep into the heart of Banff National Park. During your journey you may choose to stay in tents, or enjoy a backcountry lodge stay at the historical Halfway Lodge or the beautiful Sundance Lodge. We have several wilderness tenting rides and lodge rides for you to choose from, ranging from 2 to 6 days in duration.
