Holiday on Horseback offers true western heritage experiences in Banff National Park. Days are spent horseback riding and learning all about life in the west! Evenings are spent in a cozy lodge. We call that roughing it the civilized way!

Sundance Lodge sits alongside a gentle curve on Brewster Creek, with the Sundance Mountain Range as a backdrop. Built entirely with fir logs, the lodge has 10 sleeping rooms, a large country kitchen, and a cozy living room area where you can curl up by the woodstove with a good book. Although it is a remote backcountry lodge, we do have hot showers! (Please note that for environmental reasons, showers are restricted to one per stay).

Halfway Lodge is surrounded by the beauty of towering peaks and has been a welcome haven for over 75 years. Halfway sleeps a maximum of fourteen guests. This rustic backcountry cabin has propane lanterns and candles to provide the lighting, and a woodstove keeps the water hot and the cabin warm and cozy.

We have several "Lodge Rides" for you to choose from ranging from 2 to 6 days in duration.

Rent mountain bikes to explore those mountain trails. Shoot the rapids. Go on a guided flyfishing trip on the famous Bow River, or high up in a spectacular alpine lake or stream. Try a scenic trailride on horseback, or join a sleigh ride for some great Western winter fun. Enjoy a historic wagon ride along the banks of the Bow River and an old west style cook-out.

Experience the thrill of riding the alpine on an ATV Tour. Enjoy the beauty and ruggedness of the Canadian Rockies by snowmobile, or try a Dog Sled Tour and learn to ride and drive your team of dogs with a guide. Take a scenic flight over the Canadian Rockies. There's guided walks, hikes, and heli-hiking too! Our Hockey Tours include arranged seating at NHL Hockey games and transportation.
